Client Guest Post: Keto Cinnamon Rolls

Checkout this guest post! One of my clients decided she wanted to experiment a little with Ketosis and decided to make these Keto approved Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing!

If you are like me and are a Keto newbie then you are probably looking for recipes that allow you to eat a few of the carb-filled foods that you love…just without the carbs ☺. One of my favorite guilty pleasures was a warm cinnamon roll so imagine my excitement when I found a recipe for keto-friendly cinnamon rolls! I finally got around to trying the recipe today and just had to share it after tasting how delicious they were.


Using the recipe from the website isavea2z.com I started with two cups of mozzarella cheese and 3 tablespoons of cream cheese and melted them in a microwave for about one minute. Once they were melted I then stirred in the other ingredients (3/4 cup of almond flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 egg) until everything was well mixed and the dough was smooth.

I then spread out a piece of parchment paper and dumped the dough onto it and began kneading (the recipe states that the dough could be very sticky until it is well kneaded and that you may need to add almond flour but I never experienced any stickiness, my dough was smooth throughout the kneading). Using my rolling pin I then rolled out the dough into a rectangular shape. Next, I melted an 1/8 stick of butter and brushed the melted butter onto the dough and sprinkled cinnamon and stevia on top.


After I added my desired stevia and cinnamon I begin rolling up the dough from one side. Using a knife I cut my rolled dough into about 20 cinnamon rolls.


Taking a new piece of parchment paper I laid that on my baking sheet and then transferred my cinnamon rolls to the tray. They were baked at 350 degrees for about 10-12 minutes and then I removed them from the oven and allowed them to cool.






While the cinnamon rolls were in the oven I began working on the cream cheese icing. I added 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and cream cheese and 1 tablespoon of stevia into a bowl and stirred them all together using a hand mixer until the mixture was smooth.




I added the frosting to the cinnamon rolls once they had cooled down (about 5-10 minutes).


And that’s it! It was a super simple process and they turned out so good, I had to force myself to stop eating them after I had a few lol.
